Building Bright Futures Filled with Purpose and Possibility
Re-elect me as your Ward 5 Board of Education member, and together we’ll continue the excellent work we’ve started—delivering results you can see for Marietta’s students. Over the next term, I’ll keep working hard for our students, families, and educators by focusing on the issues that matter most.
The number one responsibility of the Board of Education is to do everything in our power to keep students and staff safe. Marietta has already invested in additional school resource officers and safety personnel, strengthened our partnership with the Marietta Police Department, and adopted innovative tools like artificial intelligence to monitor potential threats. We’ve also implemented Evolve Pass-Through Weapons Detections Systems at our grades 6–12 campuses. Safety must always come first, and we will continue to make it our top priority.
Great schools are built on great teachers. I believe in investing in our educators—not only as classroom instructors, but as leaders who inspire, innovate, and shape the future. By supporting teacher leadership and professional growth, we create stronger schools and better outcomes for every student.
We’ve made tremendous progress in literacy, and I’m committed to building on that success. Every child, from pre-kindergarten through high school, deserves the tools to read, write, and communicate with confidence. Expanding our literacy model across all grades ensures students are prepared not just to learn, but to thrive in every subject.
The world of work is changing fast—with new technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) shaping nearly every industry. Our schools must provide strong career pathways that connect classroom learning to real-world opportunities. Whether students choose college, career, or military service, they should graduate ready to succeed in a rapidly changing world.
