Dear Neighbor

Dear Neighbor,

Our schools are the heart of our community, and the future of Marietta depends on how well we prepare every child for success.
My name is Angela Orange, and for the past 8 years I am honored to serve as your Ward 5 representative on the Marietta City Schools Board of Education. I’ve worked alongside families, educators, and community leaders to strengthen our schools and expand opportunities for all students. Today, I am running for re-election because I believe in what’s possible when we continue to dream big and deliver results for our children.
During my service, we have achieved milestones that make me proud of our city and hopeful for our future. Together, we led the effort to renovate the historic Lemon Street Grammar School—transforming the building into a vibrant extension of Marietta High School that now provides wraparound services, a night school, and mentoring for students who need a differentiated environment. We’ve positioned Marietta as a nationally recognized leader in literacy, with our Literacy and Justice for All initiative improving reading outcomes that surpass other Metro Atlanta school districts and the state of Georgia- earning major grant funding. And most importantly, our students are thriving—achieving historic gains in literacy, reaching the highest graduation rate in district history, and pursuing bright futures in college, careers, and service to our country.
But our work is not done. We must continue to act boldly to ensure every child in Marietta has access to strong schools, caring educators, and meaningful pathways to success. I believe in the power of our community to create real, lasting change—and I know we can keep moving forward together.
This campaign is not just about re-election. It’s about building bright futures filled with possibility and purpose. I invite you to stand with me—to lend your voice, your energy, and your support as we work to ensure that every child in Marietta has the opportunities they deserve.
Thank you for believing in our schools, our students, and our shared future.
With gratitude,
Angela Orange
